They defined the inter-personal love relationship that God has always intended to have with human beings. Through divine covenants, God releases his divine power and blessings for mankind's enjoyment and fruitfulness.
The New Covenant was ratified in the blood of Jesus. Therefore, when Jesus said, "This is my blood of the New Covenant," he was anticipating the ratification of the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34. Through his own blood, he obtained eternal redemption. Through Jesus' definitive sacrifice, believers receive decisive purgation of the conscience and the effective removal of every impediment to the worship of God. The New Covenant enacted through the blood of Jesus has granted to believers a new and a living way into God's presence, an authorization of access that was not available in Old Testament worship. The new and living way participates in the incorruptible freshness of the new covenant. The enactment of the new covenant has reconciled humankind to God, to experience the glory of God's being and worship him as Lord and king over all.
